FlatironKitchen & DiningTableware

Born from a desire to find new homes for American-made plates from old institutions and restaurants, Julie Gaines’ famously quirky dish shop is rustic in a way that’s surprising for this slick area of Manhattan. The signage and shop vibe exhibits a distinct brand of smart and silly humor that makes time spent here an experience, not just an errand. Pick through stacks of old plates branded for defunct restaurants and member’s clubs, or find a perfect set of diner-style mugs. Printed glassware and funny tea towels of their own brand are also available, as are fearlessly biased political items during presidential election cycles.
