When Barnes & Noble — the only bookstore in the Bronx — closed in 2016, lifelong resident Noëlle Santos made it her mission to do something about it. So, she opened her very own bookstore, an independent one tailored to her very own community The Lit. Bar is the bright star of Mott Haven and serves up books of all genres, with a focus on Black and Latinx authors and books by and about Bronx natives.
